DOS Notice on Applicability of EVP Redesignation Fee

DOS clarified the applicability of the Exchange Visitor Program's December 3, 2007 fee structure in a notice posted on their Web site on December 3.

For all benefits covered by the new fees:

"Any application post-marked on or after December 3, 2007, is subject to the required fee. All fees are to be paid through Pay.gov. A complete application consists of the application/request, justification and supporting documentation (if applicable) and confirmation of payment in Pay.gov."

Special rule for applications for redesignation:

"If the Department receives a sponsor’s application for redesignation post-marked prior to December 3, 2007, and the program expiration date is prior to April 3, 2008, no fee is required. If an application is received prior to December 3, 2007, and the program expiration date is on or after April 3, 2008, the redesignation fee is required."
