Interim Final J Trainee and Trainee Intern Regulation

The Department of State's interim final rule revised the J Trainee regulations at 22 CFR 62.22 by eliminating the "specialty" and "non-specialty" occupation distinction, establishing a new Trainee Intern category, and modifying the selection criteria for training program participation. The rule was effective July 19, 2007. SEVIS functionality to implement the new rule was included in SEVIS Release 5.7.
