NAFSA comments on proposed rule that would add evidence requirements for assignment of SSNs to F-1 students

On February 2, 2004, NAFSA sent a comment letter to the Social Security Administration regarding the December 16, 2003 proposed rule (AMDOC# 200312003) that would add new evidence requirements for assignment of social security numbers (SSNs) to students in F-1 status. NAFSA is encouraging its members to draft comment letters on this proposed rule, inviting them to use the NAFSA letter as a guide. The comment deadline is February 17, 2004. NAFSA also invites commenters to share copies of their letters by e-mailing them to govrel@nafsa.org. AMDOC#: 200402005
