POMS Section RM 00203.488: SSA guidance on how immigration status of foreign students and exchange visitors is verified

On October 14, 2004, the Social Security Administration updated their Program Operations Manual System (POMS) to provide guidance on how immigration status of foreign students and exchange visitors are verified in accordance to the new F-1 evidence rule for obtaining a social security number published in [69 Fed. Reg. 55065 (AMDOC# 200409005]. POMS Section RM 00203.488 provides information on the procedure involved in reviewing the documents presented as evidence of immigration status. AMDOC#: 200410019
