For Immediate Release

Washington, May 1, 2018 – NAFSA: Association of International Educators is pleased to announce the 2018-2019 NAFSA Senior Fellows. Selected based on their commitment to higher education internationalization and to strengthening global ties, the new cohort brings unique strengths and expertise in international education.

In addition to providing academic support to NAFSA’s efforts in thought leadership and scholarship generation, the NAFSA Senior Fellows program aims to meet the needs of the expanding, diverse new NAFSA audiences, including faculty and scholars, graduate students, senior international officers, university presidents, provosts, global voices, government leaders and policy experts. With the assistance of the Senior Fellows, NAFSA continues its goal to provide visibility for researchers, scholar-practitioners and other leaders in internationalization and global learning.

The five new Senior Fellows will contribute to academic scholarship as well as speak at NAFSA events, guided by the theme “The Global Flattening of Higher Education: Implications for Higher Education Internationalization.” Three of the fellows will host a conference session later this month at the NAFSA 2018 Annual Conference & Expo in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

“We selected this group of Senior Fellows because they represent a broad range of institutions and organizations that share passion and commitment to the scholarship and administration of international education,” stated NAFSA Executive Director and CEO Esther D. Brimmer. “Each of these remarkable men and women provide strong intellectual groundwork and significant experience that will prove crucial for NAFSA’s overall efforts to advance international education and contribute to a more just and peaceful world.”
