NAFSA submitted comments to the Department of State on
its proposed extension of Forms DS-3036 and DS-3037, which are used for
exchange visitor program designation, redesignation, program amendments, and
program updates. NAFSA recommended that DOS amend the instructional language on
the paper forms, which are generated by SEVIS, to reflect the role that SEVIS
plays in the processes in which the forms are used. DOS had published notice
of the forms extension on April 22, 2010. Public comments were due on or
before June 21, 2010.
