Background

In November 2010, the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) began the process of recertifying schools that accept F and M nonimmigrants. Today SEVP is releasing the latest of its recertification resources to help schools with this process. This new webinar provides a user’s view of the recertification process from the perspective of the institution.

Purpose

SEVP’s Fayrid Ladha hosts a practical and helpful discussion about recertification with two principal designated school officials, Ravi Shankar from Northwestern University and Jim Hammerschmidt from the University of Illinois at Chicago – two universities that have completed the SEVP recertification process.

In this webinar, the panel discusses how easy recertification can be, its common pitfalls and helpful tips. As a special addition, the end of the webinar has a message from the SEVP robot, as seen at the 2011 NAFSA national conference in Vancouver, Canada.
