Opening Reception

Join us Tuesday evening at 6:00pm to kick off the conference with hors d'oeuvres, drinks and great entertainment from the Bebe LeBoeuf Cajun band (206kb Icon PDF 16). Included with conference registration.

Morning Hike to Peet's Hill

Get up and get moving on Wednesday with a morning hike to Peet's Hill (193kb Icon PDF 16). Hikers will meet at 7:00am in the lobby of the hotel for transportation to Peet's Hill. The Peet's Hill hike provides great views of the city of Bozeman and the surroundings. A choice between two routes can accommodate hikers of all abilities. Total distance is 2.0 miles. Estimated return to the hotel at 8:00am. Cost: Free.

Book Discussion: The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind is a remarkable true story about human inventiveness and its power to overcome crippling adversity. It will inspire anyone who doubts the power of one individual's ability to change his community and better the lives of those around him. Read the book prior to the conference and join your regional colleagues in Wednesday's discussion of the book's many messages.

Emerson Center Art Galleries and Restaurant Hops

The Emerson Center for the Arts and Culture is a community arts hub housed in a one-of-a-kind 1918 school building. Classrooms are now artist workspace, yoga studios, galleries, non-profit organizations and the award-winning Emerson Grill. The Emerson offers arts outreach and education programs, community events, and contemporary art galleries showcasing the work of established and emerging artists. Galleries and artists shops will remain open into the early evening for NAFSAns. Visit the galleries, then head downtown for a bite to eat at one of Bozeman's many unique restaurants (965kb Icon PDF 16). Transportation will be provided from the hotels beginning at 5:15pm. Cost: $5.00

Morning Yoga

Ready to stretch those sore muscles? Join us on Thursday morning at 7:00am for a 45 minute flow yoga course (116kb Icon PDF 16). Location TBD. Appropriate for all fitness levels. Cost: Free.

Museum of the Rockies Dinosaur Exhibit and Dinner

Dinosaurs, dinosaurs, dinosaurs! The Museum of the Rockies (MOR) is a world-class museum located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains in Bozeman, Montana. Known for its vast collection of dinosaur fossils, the Museum houses some of the most famous dinosaur specimens in the world including Tyrannosaurus Rex and Triceratops. On Thursday evening, NAFSAns will have the opportunity to explore this one-of-a-kind exhibit, ask questions of the docents, and network with your colleagues in a unique setting. Dinner is included. Cost: $30.00
