Keynote Speaker

Liliana Ferrer SilvaLiliana Ferrer Silva - Consul General of Mexico in Sacramento, CA
Liliana Ferrer Silva was ratified by the Mexican Senate in March 2017 to be the new Consul General of México in Sacramento. Ms. Ferrer has been a Mexican Career Foreign Service Officer since 1992. Prior to her appointment to Sacramento, Ms. Ferrer was chancellery director at the Mexican Embassy in France. Earlier in her career, she was director of political affairs at the Mexican Embassy in the United States.

Ferrer received her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of California, Davis, and her Masters in Pacific International Affairs from the University of California, San Diego, where she was awarded a pre-doctoral fellowship at the Center for US/Mexican Studies.

Roberto Valdovinos Alba - Institute of Mexicans Abroad
Roberto Valdovinos Alba has a master's degree from the Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University (France), as well as an MA and an MPhil by the University of Columbia (USA). He has been a fellow of the French Ministry of Education and a Fulbright scholar. In the United States, he coordinated the “Migrante Vota” campaign to promote the vote of Mexicans abroad during the past electoral period and helped coordinate the Migration Proposal 2018 presented by Father Alejandro Solalinde to the new federal government. He is the current director of the Institute of Mexicans Abroad.

Resume Review

Resume review sessions available! Again this year, we will be offering Resume Reviews at the upcoming Region XII Conference in Davis for those newcomers and others who are interested in receiving feedback about their resumes, cover letters, and career goals. Resume reviews will be conducted by experienced NAFSAns during session time periods at the conference. The Resume Reviews are planned as 30-minute one-on-one interactions. Sign up for your Resume Review at the registration table when you arrive at the conference. Bring a copy of your resume and cover letter to the review.

Campus Tour

There will be optional campus tours of UC Davis from 1:15 - 1:45 PM during the lunch break. If you are interested in attending, you can sign up at the registration table upon arriving at the conference. 



The UC Davis International Center is located on the corner of Russel Blvd and California Ave at 463 California Ave, Davis, CA 95616. Visitor Permits may be purchased for $9.00 from dispensers located at lot entrances throughout the campus.

The University of California also offers UC reciprocity parking to faculty and staff for parking permits. If you have a UC parking permit at your home institution, you can contact the UC Davis Transportation Services Office to inquire about obtaining a reciprocity permit.

Public Transportation

Train: The Amtrak stops at the downtown Davis train depot several times a day, offering a convenient link for commuters from Sacramento, the Bay Area, and beyond.

Bus: For local and regional bus options, including Unitrans, Yolobus, and others, visit this site.


Sacramento International Airport is the closest airport to UC Davis, located about 30 minutes away from the campus. For transportation from the airport to campus, we recommend contacting Uber, Lyft, a local cab company, or the DavisAirporter shuttle service at 1-800-565-5153. Yolobus also offers public bus service from the Sacramento airport to UC Davis.
