Joelle Brown

Joelle Brown, MA, is the associate director for education abroad services at NAFSA: Association of International Educators.  At NAFSA, Joelle serves as staff partner to the volunteer leaders of the Education Abroad Knowledge Community (EAKC), Education Abroad Regulatory Practice Committee (EARP), and their subcommittees. 

Joelle's interest in international education began as a summer English tutor in Wuhan, China during college. Since then, she has built a multi-faceted career in international education spanning three Big Ten institutions. Most recently, Joelle was the Assistant Director for Global Community Engagement at the University of Iowa's Tippie College of Business. Joelle has coordinated education abroad programs, both in-person and virtual, focused on China, Italy, and the Asia Pacific region. She earned her degrees from the University of Iowa and Michigan State University.
