Theme Overview

Data collection and analysis is an integral part of an international educator’s work. When advocating for a new program, developing new strategies, or advocating for additional staff, international educators need data to achieve their goals.

In many instances, a wealth of data already exists on campus but mining and analyzing the data can be daunting. How is data being collected for decisionmaking? What are some effective strategies for using data to forecast trends, evaluate programs, and measure success?

The NAFSA Strategic Retreat for International Educators offers an opportunity to discuss the key components of using data to enhance an international program. During the retreat, participants will:

  • articulate how to collect data in a way that is sustainable and allows for long-term analysis;
  • learn about reliable data sources and strategies for using them effectively; and
  • confirm that their campuses are collecting and analyzing the data needed to drive institutional strategy.

This NAFSA Strategic Retreat is for directors, deans, faculty, and professionals with extensive experience in international education. The dedicated space and time in a retreat allows for maximum focus and productive discussions.
