The University of California, Irvine’s International Programs of the Division of Continuing Education is delighted to offer attendees and guests of the NAFSA 2017 National Conference to visit our beautiful campus, and neighboring Laguna Beach.

Established in 1965, UCI has been ranked #9 best public university in the United States by U.S. News and World Report, and was the first public university with faculty to receive two Nobel Prizes – one in chemistry and one in physics, in the same year (1995). UC Irvine is surrounded by a 42-mile coastline in Irvine, which has been rated the safest city in the U.S. by FBI Crime Ranking for 11 years in a row. International Programs itself provides superior English-language instruction, post-graduate certificates, and comprehensive preparation for successful undergraduate and graduate studies for international audiences from over 90 countries in the past 10 years.

FIDM/The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising

We are very pleased to invite attendees and guests of the NAFSA 2017 Conference to visit FIDM/The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, a one-of-a-kind college of the applied arts, where creative talent, academic engagement, and determination are fostered by dedicated faculty and staff.

Each of FIDM’s four campuses is strategically located for optimal visual stimulation and immersion in California’s vibrant entertainment, fashion, and action sports industries. FIDM’s award winning Los Angeles campus is situated next to tree-filled Grand Hope Park, just two blocks from L.A. Live and the Los Angeles Convention Center on the corner of 9th St. and Grand Ave.

Parking is available underneath he FIDM building on 9th Street, between Hope Street and Grand Avenue. Tours of FIDM’s facilities will be offered Tuesday May 30, 2017 from 9 am to 11:30 am.

We are very pleased to invite attendees and guests of the NAFSA 2017 Conference to visit Santa Monica College! Recognized as one of the best Community Colleges in California and the nation, SMC provides the first two years of American university education and Career Technical Training. More students transfer from the College to the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and University of Southern California (USC), than from any other school. Large numbers also transfer to the California State University (CSU) system, and to the best public and private schools in California and throughout the US. Over 35,000 students, including about 3,500 international students from more than 110 countries, attend SMC.

SMC stands as a model among community colleges for comprehensive campus internationalization. This year the college received a Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization from NAFSA and also received an inaugural 2017 Andrew Heiskell Award for Innovation in International Education from the Institute of International Education for our innovative efforts.

Established in 1918, Otis College is located in the Westchester neighborhood of Los Angeles, four miles from LAX airport and three miles from the Pacific Ocean.
