A NAFSA Signature Program offered by the International Education Leadership Knowledge Community
Internationalization & Diversity and Inclusion
Los Angeles, California
Tuesday, May 30, 2017
Campuses in the United States and around the world struggle with issues of social inclusion, diversity, and intercultural learning. How can international educators lead higher education through these complex challenges? How can you, as a higher education leader, contribute to positive outcomes on your campus around issues related to race, ethnicity, national origin, social class, gender, and other identities, and advance the dialogue in a productive way? It’s more important than ever that inclusion and internationalization are collaborative campus efforts as we work to create the best possible learning atmosphere for all students.
Keynote and panel speakers from the United States and other countries will provide comparative viewpoints on both the international and local dynamics of this topic, including examples of international education’s role in transforming institutions. Participants will also engage in roundtable breakout discussions with other senior international officers and international education leaders to network and discuss the opportunities and challenges for their campuses.
