NAFSA Joins Other Education Associations in Sending Letter to CAEP

NAFSA CEO and Executive Director Marlene Johnson joined several leaders from education associations in sending a letter to the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (CAEP) to request the integration of global perspective building into the standards for teacher education accreditation.

Internationalizing Your Educator Preparation Program: CAEP Session Materials

NAFSA sponsored a session at the September 2012 conference of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), accrediting body for colleges of teacher education. Professors David Moss, University of Connecticut, and Stephen Koziol, University of Maryland, spoke about the importance of preparing globally competent teachers and the strategies and initiatives of their teacher preparation programs. Preparing Globally Competent Teachers: NAFSA’s background paper for CAEP Commissioners

Working with David M. Moss, associate professor, Neag School of Education, University of Connecticut, and Jennifer Manise, executive director, Longview Foundation for Education in World Affairs and International Understanding, in September 2012, NAFSA authored a paper for commissioners of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), accrediting body for colleges of education, outlining the critical importance of internationalizing teacher education.
