Global Nomad Specific Interest Group

SIG - Global NomadsThe Global Nomad SIG's purpose is to provide formal recognition of global nomads as a unique group within both the international student community and the association membership; to establish a forum for NAFSA's global nomads and SIG members to discuss the benefits and challenges of an internationally mobile childhood due to a parent's occupation; and to provide a network for sharing resources and ideas encouraging optimum use of the knowledge, skills, and awareness of students and NAFSAns who are global nomads.

Now Taking Applications for NAFSA's 2015 Diversity Impact Program

January 28, 2015
NAFSA is currently taking applications for its 2015 Diversity Impact Program which focuses on international education professionals from tribal colleges and universities; historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs); Hispanic-serving institutions (HSIs); and community colleges and associates colleges. Please note that this year's program is an expansion of last year's Impact Scholarship program which now includes many benefits such as complimentary NAFSA membership and annual conference registration, as well as yearlong mentoring and professional learning opportunities.

Please consider acting as a program mentor to help us spread the word about this exciting diversity program which rewards professionals working with underserved student populations and helps to diversify the field of international education. The application deadline is April 1, 2015.
