Region V

Welcome to the Region V website! Here you will find helpful information about upcoming events in the region, immigration updates, the Region V team roster, and other resources for your work.

The purpose of Region V is to advance NAFSA's mission within the region's specified area by developing and implementing appropriate activities to such purposes, and by responding to the particular needs of its members. NAFSA Region V, composed of Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin, has approximately 800 members representing more than 250 institutions. We hope you find this site both practical and helpful. Call for Proposals for 2013 Bi-Regional Conference

NAFSA Regions V and VI are proud to announce the call for proposals for our upcoming Bi-Regional Conference! The conference will be held November 2-5 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Submit your proposal now! Proposal deadline is June 24, 2013. Bi-regional collaborations are encouraged! 

The Region V Team is Growing

We are proud to announce openings for two new volunteer positions on the Regional Team: Advocacy Coordinator and Teaching, Learning, Scholarship (TLS) Representative.

The Advocacy Coordinator will focus on advocacy efforts within the region by coordinating our NAFSA Advocacy Day grant program, attending Advocacy Day, disseminating advocacy-related information to the region, soliciting and reviewing advocacy-related session proprosals for the regional conference, etc.

The TLS Representative will be responsible for disseminating information of TLS interest to region, serving as a liaison between regional members and the national TLS Knowledge Community team, encouraging regional workshops and sessions dealing with TLS topics, etc.
