Preparation Program Trainer, Trainer Corps

Core Education Program Workshop Dean

The workshop dean is responsible for ensuring that their assigned Core Education Program (CEP) workshop materials are accurate and up to date. Each CEP workshop has a set of curriculum materials including a trainer guide, participant workbook, accompanying visuals and web resource page. Workshop deans also serve as a resource for training teams delivering the curriculum to ensure high quality and consistent delivery across training venues.

Chair, Academy For International Education

The Chair of the Academy of International Education takes the lead role in ensuring that the Academy for International Education continues to meet the training needs of newcomers, those in transition and those who have taken on new or expanded responsibilities. The chair is the program’s liaison to the regional teams, and the Training Coordination Subcommittee (TCS). The chair also acts as coach for the Academy coaches, working with staff to lead the training and support of the Academy coaches.

Trainer Corps Member

Trainer Corps is made up of over 300 volunteer trainers. Individual Trainer Corps members serve in a variety of roles including workshop trainers, deans, lead trainers, and curriculum design team members to support NAFSA’s Core Education Program workshops.

Workshop Trainer

Trainer Corps training teams are generally made up of 2-4 workshop trainers who deliver NAFSA’s Core Education Program (CEP) workshops, using a standardized workshop curriculum and incorporating best training practices based on adult learning theories, which engage participants all throughout the learning process.

Become an Academy Coach

The Academy for International Education is a year-long professional development program designed to provide newcomers with an introduction to the field of international education and those more experienced with an opportunity to broaden their perspectives. Experienced international educators serve as coaches and guide the learning of a cohort of up to six Academy trainees.
