Serving NAFSA at the regional level is a rewarding experience that leads to new opportunities and contacts with colleagues across the field. Below is a list of positions that the Region VIII leadership team is currently recruiting for. These are all volunteer positions, most with a two-year commitment. Have a question? Campus & Community Programming Liaison Icon PDF 16
Serve as a resource for the region and educate about CCP activities. Share information of interest with regional educators and help to integrate related activities and workshops at the annual conference. Ideal for someone who is committed to promoting cross-cultural understanding and an interest in teaching and helping others. Two years of experience in campus and community programming is necessary for this role.

Chair-Elect Icon PDF 16
This position is a three-year commitment: one year as the chair-elect, a second year as the chair, and the final year as "past chair." The chair-elect responsibilities include setting budget, approving expenditures, and conference planning and evaluation. Requires two years of experience on a regional team.

Communications Coordinator Icon PDF 16
Manage Region VIII social media and website, and create and promote the Region VIII newsletter. Assist with updating forms, applications, and reports as needed.

International Student & Scholar Services (KCISS) Regional Liaison Icon PDF 16
The KCISS liaison serves as a resource to the region, while representing KC interests on the team and in conference planning. Ideal role for someone interested in helping and teaching others; two years of experience in a KCISS-related role necessary

Regulatory Ombuds-Scholar Icon PDF 16
The regulatory ombudsperson (or "reg bud") provides provides case intervention and regulatory problem-solving with USCIS; provides case-based technical assistance to international education professionals and government officials at the regional level; and participates in the National Regulatory Ombuds Sub-Committee of ISSRP. A minimum of two years of experience as an RO is necessary for this role.
