Read the Trainer Corps position description to see if you would be interested in applying.

Applications will open again by September 2019.

Application Process

  1. Application
The application process is open every year from late summer until early January. Applicants fill out the Trainer Corps application and submit to Professional Learning Services by the application deadline.
  2. Application Review
Each application is reviewed by a team of experienced Trainer Corps members and other member leaders. Reviewers consider whether an applicant has shown enough content expertise to professionally train others in a given area.
  3. Notification and Confirmation
NAFSA staff notifies applicants in late February. Accepted applicants then read and sign the Trainer Corps Acceptance Agreement.
  4. Virtual Trainings
Upon acceptance in to the Trainer Corps, all new incoming trainers are required to attend an introductory virtual orientation program to gain an overview of the basics of Trainer Corps, roles, structure, and expectations.
  5. Induction Workshop
New members are also required to attend the Trainer Corps Induction Workshop, a day-long event taking place prior to the NAFSA Annual Conference. This workshop reviews principles of adult learning, provides an overview of NAFSA Core Education Program curriculum materials, and provides tools for preparing to deliver a workshop with a team.

Trainer Corps members are not charged a fee to attend this workshop and it is run by invitation only. The 2019 workshops will be held on Sunday, May 26 and Monday, May 27 in Washington, DC. Learn more about NAFSA's 2019 Annual Conference and Expo.
