The CT NAFSAN group meets four times a year at various institutions throughout the state. A variety of topics are covered during the meetings and relevant guest speakers are often invited. Meeting times are 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., unless otherwise noted. State meetings are open to all who wish to attend; email if...

  • There is a topic on any aspect of international education you would like discussed at a meeting or
  • You are interested in hosting a meeting at your institution.

The next Connecticut State Meeting will be held on February 28th, 2018 at Fairfield University from 10 am to 12:pm.

We are pleased to have two guest speakers available to join us on February 28th.

Enda Kelleher, Vice President of Sprintax
Just in time for tax season, we look forward to having Enda Kelleher join us and share the latest information on what we need to know to guide students through the paperwork. He will help us think about how we communicate to students about their tax compliance obligations as well as some of the resources available to students.

Sylvia Pu, UConn Graduate Student in Sociology
Sylvia will share with us her research on the adjustment of international students in the U.S. with a particular focus on her research with students from China. Her work also focuses on upward mobility again the backdrop of capitalist transition, on the middle-class project in the making and on the cultural and historical underpinnings of quality at large.

Prior to closing and based on attendance, we aim to have break-out sessions by knowledge community to share ideas and challenges.


Time and Place: February 28, 2018 10:00am to 12:00pm, Dogwood Room, Fairfield University Barone Campus Center

Directions: Plan to enter the main entrance of the campus. If you are using GPS, you can search for Loyola Drive Fairfield, CT.

Parking: The best place to park is in the parking garage on Loyola Drive next to the Kelley Center. You will see the large recreation center on your left and then the parking garage to your right. Parking is free and we will notify Public Safety that there will be visiting cars. There is no need to get a parking pass.

Meeting Room: We will meet in the Dogwood Room. The meeting space is in the Barone Campus Center. When you walk out onto Loyola Drive, you will see a traffic circle adjacent to the Kelley Center. The Barone Campus Center is the large glass front building across the circle. Enter the main doors on the right side of the building and walk straight ahead to the Dogwood Room.
