71 Fed. Reg. 17768 (April 7, 2006)

The U.S. Department of State published a proposed rule that would, among other things, create a new 12-month intern subcategory within the J trainee regulations. The new J intern category would allow a recent graduate of a foreign college or university to, within 12 months following graduation, enter the United States to participate in a structured and guided period of work-based learning related to the specific field in which he or she earned a degree. Public comments were due June 6, 2006. Read NAFSA's comment to the proposed rule. AMDOC#: 200604005
