Our Commitment to a Greener Conference and a Better Planet

NAFSA is committed to implement environmentally-friendly policies year-round. At this year’s NAFSA 2019 Annual Conference & Expo in Washington D.C., we and our partners, along with the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, are working together to provide you with an environment-friendly event throughout the week. This commitment includes:

Printing

NAFSA is pleased to partner with printers who use of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC-certified) and Print Releaf paper for NAFSA 2019 direct mail, the NAFSA 2019 Annual Conference Program, the NotePlanner and NAFSA publications. We proudly display the FSC logo on these printed documents, along with FSC certification numbers.

Paper Recycling

Large recycling bins are located near the registration center for attendees to leave any conference materials that they do not wish to take home with them. This includes conference bags, programs, magazines, note planner, handouts, and any other printed materials that you have collected throughout the week.

Water Bottles

NAFSA along with our sponsor USC International Academy will provide attendees with BPA-free refillable water bottles. The bottles are available to conference attendees near the registration center.
