Sara Vancil

Assistant Director for Financial Aid and Scholarships
University of Kansas

Sara Vancil is an Assistant Director for Financial Aid and Scholarships at the University of Kansas.  She oversees various processes in the office including developing cost of attendance budgets, managing financial aid packaging, transfer student monitoring and awarding summer financial aid.  She works on scholarship programs for high-need, first-generation college students and takes the lead on many projects involving data analytics in the financial aid office. 

Prior to her time in financial aid at the University of Kansas, Sara worked in career services and admissions.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Boston College.

She has been active in the Rocky Mountain Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (RMASFAA) and the Kansas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (KASFAA) since she started in financial aid, holding numerous positions. She is currently serving as Past-President of KASFAA and Chair of Electronic Initiatives for RMASFAA.
