Guided by our values, NAFSA uses its annual conferences to expand ongoing dialogue and create opportunities for constructive engagement in cities and states across the United States. Our intentional effort to convene in a geographically diverse range of cities ensures that we meet our members, students, and colleagues where they live and work.

We believe in the power of bringing our values with us and creating positive impact wherever we convene—particularly in places where an affirmation of our values and an expression of solidarity is especially meaningful. In partnership with local organizations in each host city, we leverage the annual conference to amplify diverse voices and create space for respectful dialogue, support local communities through service initiatives, and engage with the media and local elected officials to demonstrate the value of international education. We also take very seriously our responsibility to foster a sense of safety and security for participants of all backgrounds, nationalities, and identities.

Ultimately, building bridges across cultures, campuses, and communities lies at the heart of who we are as international educators. This work demands that we show up—especially in difficult times and places—to model the inclusive, globally minded society we seek to build. We affirm this by supporting our members everywhere.
