Barry Vogel

Barry Vogel is managing director of the Florida International University Global First Year Program with Shorelight where he leads a team of academic and student service professionals in providing a rigorous yet supportive experience for international students.  Managing a collaborative effort between the University and Shorelight, Barry brings his varied experiences from a career in higher education that spans more than 30 years and various functional areas to provide a unique perspective on student success and leadership development  With a passion for helping individuals and organizations leverage strengths to realize their potential and make meaningful contributions, he has developed engaged teams that deliver improved performance and customer-focused environments. Prior to his current role, Barry has worked in career services, student affairs, and campus administration focusing on business operations, budgeting, finance, and auxiliary services in addition to teaching courses in leadership, diversity, human resources, and management.
