Eduardo “Eddie” Contreras is the Vice Provost for Global Engagement at Baylor University, where he serves as the senior international officer. He also served as SIO and Chief Diversity Officer at the University of Portland. He has over two-decades of experience advocating and advancing internationalization and inclusion in higher education. He was in the NAFSA EA KC chair cycle from 2019-2021, and has a chapter in NAFSA’s 2020 book, Social Justice and International Education. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Forum on Education Abroad, an editor for Frontiers: The Interdisciplinary Journal of Study Abroad, the 2023 chair of the 2022 Global Inclusion Conference, and is faculty co-chair for the Management Development Program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Dr. Contreras has a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, and a master’s and doctorate of education from Harvard.
