Emily (Quackenbush) Brew is the International Student and Scholar Services Manager within the Office of Global Affairs at the State University of New York (SUNY) System Administration. Her responsibilities include providing nonimmigrant visa and immigration advice and referral for SUNY campuses as well as consultation and training, as needed, regarding services and best practices for international students and scholars. She also serves as the Responsible Officer for the SUNY J-1 Exchange Visitor Consortium and is responsible for monitoring visa and related immigration regulations, advising system administration on necessary adjustments to SUNY policy, practice, and compliance pertaining to international student and scholar services (ISSS) and convening ISSS personnel system-wide for purposes of consultation and professional development.

Emily’s background in international education sparked from an undergraduate study abroad experience in Australia during the Sydney Olympics. Since then, she has gained experience working in both study abroad and international student and scholar advising and has had the opportunity to travel globally throughout her career.  She has previously has worked at a number of public and private institutions, including Kansas State University, Hartwick College, University at Buffalo and the College of Environmental Science and Forestry. She was also awarded a Fulbright International Education Administrators (IEA) Award to Japan.  Emily has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from SUNY Oswego and a Master of Arts in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University. In her free time, Emily enjoys being outside, spending time in the Adirondacks, and baking and cooking tasty delights.
