Janice Bogen
Janice Bogen opened the Office of International Affairs at Thomas Jefferson University in September 1991 and retired from there in March 2022. The office facilitates incoming and outgoing student, provider, researcher and faculty mobility and employment supporting the work of the Global Centers in an Academic Healthcare environment. Active in NAFSA, she was a Member-at-Large of the Board; served as VP for Member Relations; chaired the Knowledge Community for International Student and Scholar Services; and chaired the Healthcare Institutions Interest Group (HIIG). She was Chair of the 2000 NAFSA Annual Conference in San Diego and Program Chair of the NAFSA 1995 Annual Conference in New Orleans. Janice received the Homer Higbee Award in 2010. Secretary and later Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Nepal Foundation from 2003-2019, she also became a member of the Board of Directors of Quintessence Theatre Group in 2015, was Acting Chair in 2019 and continues to serve. Her Master’s degrees in linguistics and education were earned at University of Michigan.
