Mary Reeves

Mary Reeves, PhD, retired as the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) Executive Director in 2020 and as Executive Advisor in 2021. She has been an active NAFSA member since 1986, attending every Annual Conference except one since then - 34 conferences - including as chair of the NAFSA 2008 Annual Conference Committee. She has served NAFSA as a Regional XII Southern District chair, Region XII chair, chair of the National ATESL Interest Section, Vice President for Education and Professional Development on the Board of Directors, and chair of the Board’s Governance Committee. Mary’s professional career focused on advancing international education through program development, standards-setting, policy and advocacy for English language programs and institutions, culminating in directorship of CEA. She served as president of AAIEP (now EnglishUSA) and as the chair of the CEA Commission before joining the CEA staff. She continues to be active in advocating for international education and exchange and in the accreditation community, serving as a public member for a specialized accreditation council. She is grateful to all her professional family and friends, and her family in Nevada where she now resides, who have supported her and her work.
