Nushi Safinya

Nushi is a retired faculty member and director of over 44 years. Even in her retirement, she still works diligently to help first-generation Latina high school women receive scholarships for university studies, and to recognize and reward women of color returning to complete their higher education degrees to have a higher earning power. She currently serves as a member at large for the Region XII Northern California District and was a recent recipient of the Ron Moffat Award at the 2024 Region XII Conference in Honolulu, Hawaii, for her life-long commitment to international education and social justice.
