Vivian Yamoah is the associate director for international student services at Virginia Tech. She has been in the field of international education for over 15 years. Since graduating with her bachelor of arts in Asian studies and foreign affairs from the University of Virginia, she has worked in international higher education with U.S. and international students. She has her master’s degree in cross-cultural communication and international management from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in the United Kingdom. She has worked at both private and public colleges and universities. She is a member of the NAFSA Trainer Corps and has presented workshops at the local, regional, and national levels. Her area of expertise includes student and scholar immigration advising, international student academic advising, and international student career advising. She is currently working on her PhD in higher education.
