DOL Notice
March 8, 2010

As some of you know, we had a printer problem in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago, and as a result some of your members may have received certifications that were not printed double-sided, but single-sided only. While this affected only a small group of applications, some were mailed out prior to its discovery. Any employer or representative who received a one-sided application may take the following action:
  1. Return the original one-sided certification to the ANPC with a request for a complete certified application; or
  2. File the I-140 with USCIS with the one-sided certification and a request for a duplicate certification.
Those seeking Option 1 should send the one-sided certification to:

Isabel Jean-Pierre
Program Manager
U.S. Department of Labor
Employment and Training Administration
Atlanta National Processing Center
Harris Tower
233 Peachtree Street, Suite 410
Atlanta, Georgia 30303

NAFSA note: Responding to questions from AILA, DOL stated that the Atlanta National Processing Center has committed to issuance of a corrected double-sided certification in one week. DOL also stated that USCIS has been made aware that one-sided certifications have been issued. DOL said that when a two-sided certification is requested, the certification date will be the date the new one is issued, not the date the original one was issued (which should address concerns about the 180-day validity period).
