DOS Procedures For Trainee Programs To Amend Programs to Trainee or Intern

DOS sent a blast message to all Exchange Visitor Program Sponsors designated in the Trainee category on how to amend their programs under the Trainee/Intern rule that became effective on July 19, 2007. Sponsors with Trainee programs were directed to amend their programs to select either the Trainee category or the Intern category. If a sponsor wanted both, it would have to apply for a new designation for the second category.
