DOS reminds consular posts about SEVIS fee requirement

On August 31, 2004, the Department of State (DOS) issued a field cable reminding consular posts about the SEVIS fee that certain F, M, and J students and exchange visitors had to begin paying as of September 1, 2004. The cable provides guidance and background as to who needs to pay the fee, when the fee must be paid, and ability to verify SEVIS payment through the SEVIS CCD screen. AMDOC#: 200409011
