An August 12, 2002 Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) final rule set special registration and monitoring requirements for nonimmigrant aliens from certain countries. Subject aliens will have to provide specific information to ensure their compliance with the terms of their visas and admission, as well as to ensure that at the end of their authorized stay, they depart the U.S. These reports will be made upon arrival, 30 days after arrival, every twelve months after arrival, and upon certain changes, such as a change of address, school, or employment, and at time of departure from the U.S. The rule is effective September 11, 2002.
