In an August 17, 2010 broadcast message, the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) informed SEVIS users of the following:
The purpose of this message is to inform you that the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) will temporarily suspend populating student and exchange visitor departure dates in SEVIS. SEVP has determined that, since April 2010, the source data used to update departure date in SEVIS is unreliable.
All current exit records in SEVIS will remain as is; therefore, data received from April 2010 to present may reflect an inaccurate departure date. Once the Arrival and Departure Information System (ADIS) office makes the requested changes, and SEVIS processing is enabled, SEVP has a high confidence that all ADIS exit records SEVIS receives and processes will reflect confirmed departures.
During the next six months, SEVP will continue to work with our partner at the ADIS office to ensure the use of accurate data sets to populate departure information in SEVIS.
