As the U.S. Department of Homeland Security threatens new guidance and scrutiny of curricular practical training (CPT), it is more important than ever that designated school officials understand CPT regulations and how to integrate them with their institution’s curriculum and academic rules. This webinar will provide practical information for creating or revising CPT practices and policies for institutions that have cooperative education programs. In addition, webinar presenters will review best practices for communicating this policy to administrators, faculty, staff, and students.

Invite your academic, administrative, and student affairs colleagues to join this webinar! Sharing NAFSA webinars is a cost-effective way to stay informed on the latest topics facing the field. Show the webinar in a room with a projector and invite as many attendees as you wish for the price of one registration!

Objectives

  • Review CPT regulations and "gray areas" and gain insight into anticipated agency scrutiny and guidance
  • Reexamine or develop an airtight campus policy marrying CPT regulations and your cooperative education program.
  • Establish clear communication and processes for CPT authorization on your campus.
