KCISSS Liaisons and Regulatory Ombudspersons (RegBuds)
KCISSS Regional Liaisons and the Regulatory Ombudspersons (RegBuds) serve on their regional teams to ensure that your questions are answered and that your regulatory needs are heard. Regional Liaisons serve as mentors, assist with immigration and programming questions, and organize KCISSS sessions at regional conferences.
RegBuds serve as a subcommittee of NAFSA's International Student & Scholar Regulatory Practice Committee (ISS-RP), and are your conduit for solutions to case-specific problems pending at USCIS Service Centers.
For Those New to ISSS and/or New to NAFSA
For those of you newer to NAFSA and to the field of international student and scholar services, please know there is a special resource created just for you! As a newcomer, navigating the NAFSA Web site for the right kind of information can take time. To make finding what you need easier, the KCISSS team has created a One Stop Shop resource containing the most helpful web links for ISSS newcomers.
Get Liaison Help and Report An Issue
Use Get Liaison Help on IssueNet to request case-specific assistance from RegBuds when you have been unable to resolve issues through the regular channels.
Use Report an Issue to tell NAFSA about your regulatory practice concerns and to report obstacles or policy issues that are barriers to international students and scholars. The ISS-RP Committee uses your input to prioritize NAFSA's regulatory practice issues for liaison activity and to identify training or resource needs.
