Annual Conference Poster Fair Organizer

In accordance with NAFSA's Strategic Plan, the Poster Fair Organizers are responsible for:

Recruiting Poster Reviewers and Reviewing Posters (November 2026 - January 2027):

• November 2026: Attend virtual meeting with Poster Chair and NAFSA staff to review poster proposal process and promote poster proposals through networks.
• Early December 2036: Finalize poster reviewers for your poster fair theme.
• December 7, 2026– January 8, 2027: Read and score posters.
• Mid-to-late January 2027: Review compiled proposal scores and send list of accepted and rejected posters to Poster Chair and NAFSA staff.

Preparing and Planning (February 2027 - May 2027):

• Second week of February 2027: Attend virtual meeting to discuss the poster preparation process.
• February – April 2027: Preparation of presenter training.

Providing Onsite Poster Fair Support (May 2027):

• Annual Conference week 2027: Help with presenter set up, greet poster fair attendees, and respond to questions.

• Valid NAFSA membership is not required for this volunteer position.
• Recruit poster proposal reviewers in November/early December.
• Eight-month term. 
• Attend Fall and Spring Orientations (meetings are virtual).
• Foster an inclusive environment in alignment with the NAFSA Diversity and Inclusion Statement.

• This position works closely with the Annual Conference Committee (ACC) Poster Chair.
• PFOs will be paired up with a second co-PFO on the same poster theme. Co-PFOs work closely on all tasks. PFOs are encouraged to work closely with other NAFSA leaders to recruit proposals and reviewers.
• PFOs work closely with the program manager of NAFSA's conference program staff.

• At least three years in the field of international education (which can include graduate school!) with demonstrated knowledge of the specified theme.
• Networks in the field to help support the proposal and reviewer recruitment process.
• Attendance at previous NAFSA Annual Conferences, with a strong preference for previous poster presenters.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills, including timely delivery of responsibilities, open communication, and mutual respect.
