4. Register for the conference! All speakers are required to register, and we encourage you to do so before early bird registration ends on April 15!

The Pre-Recording Process & Orientation

Our production vendor, Freeman, will conduct your session recording during a scheduled time that works for everyone. Recordings will take place in the first few weeks of April and we will reach out to you to after the orientation to begin scheduling. On the day of the event, you will join us for the live playback of the recording, and then be pushed through for live Q&A.

Speaking of orientation, we are delighted to invite you to join us and Freeman for an orientation about what to expect on the day of your pre-recording and during the conference itself, as well as how to best prepare for your recording. If you cannot attend on that day and time, we will send a link to view the recording. Ideally, at least one person from your session can attend the orientation.

Be ready to share your materials (PDFs, handouts, slides) with us by April 15. You’ll upload them directly into our file management system using a forthcoming link.

Crafting a Successful Online Presentation

Reminders

Finally, a few housekeeping items:

1. If you have not already, don’t forget to sign the video release waiver ASAP. Each presenter must do so individually. If you are on two panels, please only fill in this waiver once.
2. Confirm or update your name, professional title, educational degree, affiliation, and biography for use in the online schedule. Log into your NAFSA profile and make any updates by the end of the month.
3. If you need to make a change to any presenters on your session, please let us know by March 31 by emailing us directly at [email protected]. New speakers need to complete the above steps.
4. Register for the conference! As a reminder, per our presenter policy, we ask all presenters to register for the event. Early bird registration ends April 15, and we encourage all speakers to register before then to take advantage of early bird savings.

Next steps for you:

• If you have not already done so, sign the waiver and update your NAFSA profile with any biographical data that may have changed. Please do this by Friday, February 26.
• If you need to add/change/remove a presenter, contact us separately using the form at the bottom of the page.
• Register for the conference! As a reminder, all presenters must register for the conference, regardless of the presentation format. Early-bird registration is open now through April 15. You can find all of our presenter policies on our website.
• Share your excitement about presenting at NAFSA 2021 by using the email signature badge which you can download here.

Begin preparing your session:

• Download the PowerPoint template to prepare your slides.
• Start rehearsing! In line with best practices for online content delivery, we ask you to keep your session recording up to 40 minutes to allow for Q&A.
• Be on the lookout for a library of additional presenter resources that we will share in early March.
• Join a speaker orientation with our technology and production vendor the week of March 22! We will send more specific information as soon as it's available.
• We'll ask you to share your slides and any other handouts at the beginning of April, and be ready to prerecord your presentation in mid-April.
