Since 1953, Region XI has been a vital resource for New England international educators, and it continues to offer resources to interested individuals and professionals in the following knowledge communities (KCs):
- Education Abroad (EA)
- International Enrollment Management (IEM)
- International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS)
- Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship (TLS)
A team of twenty-two (22) professionals manage the events and resources offered in Region XI; this team consists of a chair stream as well as a secretary, treasurer, special projects chair, and communication representative. In addition to these positions, the Leadership Team also includes two ISSS regulatory specialists, state representatives, knowledge community leaders (EA, IEM, ISSS, TLS), and three regional conference planners.
Region XI also boasts the presence of a subcommittee called GRAC (Government Regulations Advisory Committee). GRAC's goals center on assisting International Student and Scholar Advisors with case-specific questions related to immigration regulatory issues. Both the Leadership Team and GRAC are here to help!
Connect and Network
Region XI hosts a plethora of different events each year for professional development and offers a number of ways to connect and network with others in each knowledge community listed above. The Leadership Team and GRAC as well as other groups interested in international education coordinate such efforts.
