Adam Julian is the director of international student and scholar services at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Prior to his role at UMBC, he served as director of international student and scholar services and outreach at Appalachian State University from 2015 to 2020. Adam is the chair of NAFSA’s International Student and Scholar Regulatory Practice (ISS RP) Committee through 2021. He has served as a member of ISS RP since 2016 including as chair of ISS RP's travel subcommittee in 2017 and 2018.
Adam is a two-time Fulbright grant recipient (Moldova 2011, International Education Administrators Seminar Japan 2018). He received an MA in international education management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey (formerly Monterey Institute of International Studies) and a BA in history from Indiana University where he studied Russian and East European history, and Slavic languages, and literature.
