Ailsa Lamont’s background has 30 years of professional experience spanning capacity building, social innovation and international education around the globe. After spending 16 years at three Australian universities, including as international director and pro-vice chancellor International, Ailsa founded Pomegranate Global in 2016 to support the international education sector to take greater action on climate change.
Ailsa trained with The Climate Reality Project, former US Vice President Al Gore’s foundation in Pittsburgh in 2017. Based in Melbourne, Australia her work focuses on helping institutions take practical action to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from their international operations and to incorporate climate action and sustainability across their learning abroad and global recruitment programs.
She is also co-founder of CANIE: Climate Action Network for International Educators, a grassroots organisation which aims to strengthen the international education sector's response to the climate crisis.
