Andrew Shiotani, MA

Andrew ('Andy') joined Brown in September 2025 as the Director of the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (OISSS). In this role, Andy is responsible for supporting the OISSS advising team in providing high-quality immigration services and programs to Brown's international student and scholar community. In addition to overseeing the day-to-day operations of OISSS, Andy directly manages the University's F-1 and J-1 visa programs, monitors ongoing changes to federal immigration policy, and works with campus stakeholders to strategize on matters relating to the University's immigration compliance and international community support systems. In addition to presenting at multiple NAFSA conferences, Andrew also serves on NAFSA's International Student and Scholar Regulatory Practice - International Student Subcommittee, and is a member of NAFSA's Trainer Corps.
