Dr. Cheryl Matherly is vice president and vice provost for international affairs at Lehigh University, where she serves as senior international officer and provides strategic leadership for the university’s global education initiatives, including international student and scholar services, education abroad, partnerships, and the integration of global learning. Under her leadership, Lehigh received NAFSA’s 2021 Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization. A recognized scholar at the intersection of employability, education abroad, and experiential learning, she has shaped international internships and global programs. She is past president of AIEA, was named Senior International Officer of the Year, is an inaugural member of the National Academy of International Education, and a recipient of two Fulbright grants for international education administrators.
