Christina “Chris” Thompson (she/her/hers) is a Founder and Managing Director of Compear Global Education Network LLC, as well as an IDEA Consultant for Be Equitable Inc. She consults with partners around the world to implement diversity and intercultural interventions. Her experience in higher education spans nearly two decades. She led diversity, equity, inclusion, and international education initiatives for public and private organizations and colleges, most recently pioneering the award-winning TODOS diversity initiative at Barcelona SAE. In addition to teaching courses on intercultural preparation for education abroad, she has also instructed courses on reflection after the education abroad programming and served as faculty and program support for programs in Spain, New Orleans, London, Cyprus, the Gambia and Macau, China.

As the NAFSA EA KC Content Coordinator for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Chair of its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Subcommittee, Christina serves as a NAFSA leader; she is also a member of FORUM's Climate Justice Working Group, a NAFSA mentor, and a frequent speaker for FORUM on Education Abroad, Diversity Abroad, and WISE. Christina is the co-founder and host of the Global Respectful Disruption Summit, a virtual space for positive change, coalition building and unity for global learning for all. Christina has a MA in Liberal Arts and a concentration in Global Studies and she is currently a doctoral student studying disruptive leadership practices in global spaces.
