Director, Center for Global Engagement
Florida State University

Cynthia Green is the director of the Center for Global Engagement (CGE) at Florida State University (FSU). She initiated university-wide efforts to internationalize the campus and to create a globally rich learning environment where all students can increase their global awareness and interact with people from around the world. These efforts led to FSU being awarded the Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization in 2017. In her position at FSU, Green has expanded the mission of the CGE from international student and scholar services to include 45 bilateral exchange programs, the development of a Global Citizenship Academic Certificate Program, and a partnership with the Disney International College Program. She collaborates with others across campus to lead new initiatives which have included awards for two different Fulbright Visiting Scholar Programs for Iraq, participation in the Scholar Rescue Program, and facilitation of FSU as host for Ukrainian students funded through the Global Democracy Ambassador Scholarship Program.

Green earned her undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Florida, her MA in international education from the School for International Training, and her doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Alabama.
