Daniel C. Stoll, PhD

Former Interim Executive Director and CEO

Daniel C. Stoll served as NAFSA’s interim executive director and chief executive officer. Dr. Stoll’s distinguished career includes extensive higher education leadership and foreign policy experience. He served as the Associate Dean of Global Affairs and directed St. Norbert’s College Center for Global Engagement. Prior to joining NAFSA, Dr. Stoll held a number of senior advisory and academic leadership roles at Georgetown University from 2008 to 2018, including at Georgetown’s campus in Doha, Qatar. He also served in senior academic leadership and program management roles for 10 years at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Preceding his academic roles, he was a US Foreign Service Officer with the US Department of State (DOS), with postings in the United States, South Africa, and Iraq. Dr. Stoll earned his doctorate at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, his master’s at Georgetown University, and his bachelor’s at St. Olaf College. He has authored numerous publications, courses, and lectured and presented at countless events.
