Douglas Proctor, PhD

Douglas Proctor will take up the role of assistant vice president of global engagement and partnerships and senior international officer at York University (York) in Toronto, Canada, in January 2026. After a global career in international education with positions held in Australia, France, Ireland, and New Caledonia Proctor looks forward to leading the development and implementation of York’s next internationalization and global engagement strategy. A senior fellow of the International Education Association of Australia, Douglas holds a PhD in international higher education from the University of Melbourne and serves as one of four program faculty for NAFSA's Executive Internationalization Leadership e-Institute in 2025–26.
