Ed Mills

Dr. Mills is a highly accomplished executive with special expertise in Strategic Enrollment Management, Enrollment Marketing, Leadership, and Student Affairs. He is exploring innovations in Artificial Intelligence and Personalized Marketing for Strategic Enrollment and Strategic Experience Management. He completed a certificate program at MIT in Artificial Intelligence and Business Strategy, as well as multiple online AI courses. His work in developing and implementing personalized digital enrollment marketing and recruitment campaigns is at the cutting edge of this field. 

He has served as the Chief Enrollment Officer at CSU San Marcos, the inaugural Vice President for Strategic Enrollment at Sonoma State, and the Vice Provost for Enrollment at Cleveland State. At Sacramento State, Dr. Mills served as Vice President for Student Affairs and Chief Enrollment Officer from 2014 to 2023, and as AVP for Enrollment Management & Student Services from 2007 to 2014. He provided leadership on several multimillion-dollar construction and facility-improvement projects for Student Affairs, Auxiliaries, and Athletics.

Dr. Mills taught first-year seminars each fall for 18 years at Sacramento State and Cleveland State. He served as an adjunct faculty member for Sac State's doctoral program in Educational Leadership. Dr. Mills has served on multiple master's and doctoral committees for graduate students.
